Camosun's Community Report celebrates winning award.
Camosun's Community Report 2010 was awarded bronze by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VIII on February 24.
The CASE District VIII Communication Awards is an annual program designed to recognize excellence in marketing and communications among 130+ member from Pacific Northwest and Western Canada educational institutions.
The award-winning report highlights Camosun College's 2009-2010 academic year, and is one of the ways the college shares educational and community initiatives. This year's report featured 16 stories about how Camosun students, faculty, business partners, donors and staff contribute to Greater Victoria's rich and diverse community. The stories were accompanied by striking photographs using a warm, bold and easy-to-read layout. The annual report also includes facts and financial data for the college and the Camosun College Foundation.
"The stories underscore the power of education to transform individual, corporate and community life," says Kathryn Laurin, Camosun's president."To have the Community Report acknowledged by our peers is particularly gratifying and encouraging as we're half-way through a new strategic planning process. Our next report will share that vision."
Camosun's Community Report won bronze in the Fundraising and Special Events Publications category. The University of Alberta and Portland Community College were awarded gold and silver respectively. Out of 506 entries, 113 received recognition. The awards were made at CASE VIII's annual conference, held this year in Vancouver.
The Community Report 2010 was produced in-house by Camosun's graphic design and communication departments. If you'd like a copy of the Community Report 2010, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 250–370–4232.
