This week, Camosun has put out the welcome mat for delegations from Mozambique, the Caribbean and next week will welcome a delegation from Tanzania.

"Investing in a strong educational system provides the foundation for stability, prosperity and a healthy environment in any country," says Dr. Tom Roemer, Vice-President Strategic Development at Camosun. "Camosun is proud to be chosen as the international partner to help making this system a reality."

On June 8, Camosun hosted a delegation from Mozambique including the Honourable Leda Florinda Hugo, Deputy Minister of Education and Culture and Engineer Edmundo Jossef, Director of the Executive Commission for Reform of Vocational Education. For the past two years, Camosun has been an integral part of the Employment for Education (EFE) program and exchanges have taken place in both countries. EFE is an initiative funded by the Federal Government (CIDA) and administered by the Association of Canadian Community College (ACCC).

On June 9, Camosun had the pleasure of hosting 17 delegates from the Caribbean community (CARICOM) who were interested in exploring our programs and educational system. It was a day filled with presentations, discussions and on-site tours, capped by a wonderful west coast meal prepared by the Culinary Arts Department.

In the coming week, the College will host a Tanzanian delegation from our second EFE partner in Africa.

"Camosun was selected to host these top level delegations from Mozambique and the Caribbean Community and has a tremendous impact on-going Education-based International Development activity," said Dr. James Paulson of Camosun College International. "It is only through the coordinated efforts of staff and faculty in all of Camosun's schools and departments that we have been able to achieve these results."
