The language of culture
French is the international language of the arts—cooking, wine, visual arts, fashion, theatre, architecture and so much more.
Open the door to diverse world views
Whether you are in Canada, Africa, Europe or the Caribbean, learning this global language makes travel more exciting and gives you a diverse exposure to aspects of francophone cultures. French is an official language in Canada, and can set you up for success in business, government, diplomacy and humanitarian endeavours. Worldwide, 220 million people speak French as a first or second language. Fifty per cent of current English vocabulary is derived from French!
In Camosun's French courses, you will interact directly with the French language using a variety of authentic materials such as music, film, media reports and art. You will develop your listening, writing, reading and oral skills. Camosun’s small classes allow you to study and practice in an intimate, safe environment.
