The Dean of the School of Trades and Technology speaking at a podium

Dean Eric Sehn addresses students at the annual Trades & Technology Award Ceremony

There has never been a better time to pursue a career in trades and technology.

- Eric Sehn, Dean of the School of Trades & Technology

Dean’s Message

We live in unique times. The demographic reality of an ageing population and the subsequent wave of retirement of the Baby Boom generation means significant opportunities for skilled people now and for many years to come in our country. The much discussed skills gap, which will be more acutely felt in Western Canada, is having its effect, particularly in trades and technology occupations. When this phenomenon is coupled with a growing economy and the on-boarding of very large, infrastructure-intensive projects, such as the National Shipbuilding and Procurement Strategy here on the west coast of British Columbia, and multiple energy-related mega-projects in the northern part of the province, the need for skilled people increases even further.

The time is right to acquire the key skills required by industry.

Launch your fulfilling, challenging, respected and well-paying career with our many trades and technology programs.

Camosun College is here to help you get the right jobs at the right time with state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated, experienced and skilled instructors. With the completion of our new $30 million dollar Centre for Trades Education and Innovation in 2015, you will truly have a 21st Century learning experience when you come to Camosun.

The time is right to design, build and power your career.

- Eric Sehn, Dean of the School of Trades & Technology
