Tanya Kirkland Cree, Aboriginal Service Plan Projects Coordinator
BA in Anthropology
Hello. My name is Tanya Kirkland and I am Cree (mother) and English Canadian (father). I grew up in Prince George but moved to Vancouver to attend Langara College. I returned to Prince George to attend the University of Northern BC and completed my BA in Anthropology in 1998, the same year I welcomed the birth of my daughter. We became guests of these territories in 2001 and feel honoured to make our home here.
Pursuing post secondary studies changed my life. It allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of myself as well as opening my eyes to the world around me. As the Indigenous Community Projects Coordinator, I am excited to be part of Camosun College and to welcome you to your exciting journey.
