The School of Health & Human Services in partnership with the Camosun College Foundation offers a series of awards to our outstanding students.

Award eligibility

Eligibility for the School of Health and Human Services awards requires that you be enrolled in one of our programs during the current offering or academic calendar year.

Get nominated!

Most of the awards are given to students on the basis of nomination. You will be selected by your instructors or the chair of the department based on your academic performance, enthusiasm, participation and volunteer or work experience.

Be considered

In order to be considered, you should:

  • Maintain a good GPA or be in good academic standing.
  • Show exceptional aptitude and superior potential for a career in your field.

Bursaries

Thanks to our generous donors and to the work of the Camosun College Foundation bursaries are provided to full-time students with financial need.

You can apply for all bursaries with one application in early September and January.

Baptist Housing PN Awards

Awarded to a graduate of each Practical Nursing program who demonstrates an ability to assess a situation and speak for residents who are unable to speak for themselves, recognizes when a resident needs someone to advocate on his/her behalf, demonstrates excellent communication skills with the resident, family, peers and health professionals and has maintained a B+ grade average or higher in the program.

This award is presented to a student who demonstrates excellence in dementia care. First consideration will be given to a student who is an employee of the Lodge at Broadmead. The student demonstrates excellence in dementia knowledge and care; displays a keen interest in working with people with dementia; following graduation; demonstrates exemplary team leading qualities with peers when in clinical placements.
