Marlene Welsh Instructor

Marlene has worked at Camosun College since 2006. She has taught Clinical Practice and Health and Healing in second and third year. She has also participated in our National Field School by supervising groups of practice students in Whitehorse, Yukon Territories. She has been in the role of Associate Chair of the Nursing department for the last 3 years.
Marlene’s nursing background was primarily in Cardiovascular Care in various locations in Ontario and Michigan. She was a staff nurse in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit in Hamilton On, and Detroit Michigan for over 20 years. She managed a 10 bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit in Detroit Michigan, and has held the position of Clinical Nurse Educator for Intensive care units as well.
Marlene is a graduate of, and received a Diploma of Nursing from Mohawk College School of Nursing in Hamilton On. She received her BSN with Honors from the University of Windsor in 2001, and her Master’s degree in Health Studies from Athabasca University in 2006. She is a recent graduate of the Chair Academy and is currently an accreditor with the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing.
