Kathy Bartlett Instructor
RN, BScN, MA (Counselling Psychology)
Kathy has worked in multiple roles over the past 36 years; as a cancer nurse, northern nurse, Emergency nurse, educator, manager, child maltreatment (forensic) nurse clinician, student counselor and career advisor, Indigenous support and liaison, rehabilitation consultant, child and family therapist, and therapist in the field of child sexual abuse. Post graduate study includes certification in Holistic Expressive Play Therapy, Marriage & Family Counselling, Reiki level 1 & 2, and Medical Qi Gong. She has taught at Camosun College since 1992, in continuing education, continuing care, the hospital unit clerk program, and as a nursing faculty member since 2009.
Current interests include: prevention, healing and living with emotional trauma; complementary and alternative healing practices; mental health, enhancing resilience and capacity; living with cancer and chronic illness, death and dying; managing chronic pain; contemplative practice; solution focused nursing; teaching and learning. Kathy most enjoys the privilege of being with a diversity of people on life’s most challenging journeys.
