Scott Kouri is a third generation Lebanese-English Canadian who currently lives in Victoria BC, unceded Lewungen territory. He works as a clinical counsellor and post-secondary instructor, and is a PhD student in the School of Child and Youth Care at the University of Victoria (UVic). He teaches at Camosun College and UVic in the areas of mental health and addictions, group work, concepts of the self and identity, and cultural contexts of care. Scott is also a director on the board of the Friends of Nemaiah Valley, an organization that supports environmental protection and Indigenous sovereignty in Central British Columbia. He has written on child and youth care and counselling practice in numerous journals and books.
