Joan Astren

Joan began her career working in the child care field. She has had the privilege of having worked in diverse contexts including, daycare, child care consultant, facilitator of “Parent Child Mother Goose“ and “Adventures Early Literacy” Programs. She has been a Supported Child Development Coordinator and her passion is supporting children with extra support needs and their families.

Over the years Joan has had the pleasure to sit on numerous boards, both provincial and local. These have included Co-chair ECEBC local branch, ECEBC Provincial Board of Directors and Provincial Steering Committee Supported Child Development. She also has enjoyed creating and offering presentations in understanding children whose behaviour is challenging to us. She enjoys delving in research and considers herself a continual life learner.
