Cynthia Smith

As a visitor on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen People, I continue to learn from students and colleagues and through opportunities and challenges in my role as Dean, School of Health and Human Services.

My passion is ensuring equity, access and engagement for people in the community to health and human services which I see exemplified in all HHS programs and courses.

I am an Adjunct Professor in the School of Nursing, University of Victoria and active on several provincial and national health committees.

My husband and I continue to enjoy all the beauty and opportunity the Island offers to us and our visiting children and grandchildren.

I welcome students of all ages and backgrounds and strive to make each student feel supported in their learning experiences.

If I don’t encounter you in the classroom or out on the campus you are welcome to stop by my office on the Second Floor of the CHW to say hello.
