Kerry-Ann began teaching at Camosun College in the fall of 2014 and in the winter of 2015 took on the part-time role of Simulation Educator/Coordinator in the Nursing Program.
Originally, from Montreal Quebec, Kerry-Ann has enjoyed a rich nursing career that has brought her to the far north (Yellowknife, Northern Ontario) and coast-to-coast (New Brunswick to British Columbia) in diversified Nursing roles (Public Health, Emergency, Pediatric Intensive Care, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, and Pediatric Trauma Coordinator). In all clinical roles Kerry-Ann has embraced the opportunity to teach in various ways, taking on preceptor students, teaching paramedic students and doing outreach teaching on pediatric positioning for procedures and neurotrauma for healthcare providers. Kerry-Ann is passionate about teaching with simulation, this comes from her own experience of being involved in various simulation courses for healthcare providers and using simulation to improve trauma team functioning.
Along with her role as the Simulation Educator/Coordinator for the Nursing Program Kerry-Ann has taught various courses in all three years of the nursing program. Kerry-Ann graduated from her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors from the University of Ottawa in 1998 and recently completed her Masters in Nursing. Kerry-Ann’s professional interests include simulation and interprofessional/interdisciplinary education and research.
