Start your program prepared!

What is Orientation?

Orientation is an event to prepare you for your start at Camosun. Held the week before classes start, we give you a campus tour, lab orientation, and provide you with an opportunity to meet fellow classmates, instructors and current students.

When will I receive my invitation to Orientation?

Your email invite will be in Summer 2013.

Where is Orientation?

Orientation is held on the Interurban campus, at 4461 Interurban Road. Meet us in the courtyard in front of Campus Center!

When Should I attend Orientation?

TBA

What is the cost of Orientation?

There is no cost to attend Orientation. The cost of the event is completely covered by the School of Business in order to make sure all students are able to attend and enjoy the experience.

Do I have to attend?

Attendance is not mandatory but it is HIGHLY recommended. Students who attend Orientation are more likely to have a better first year experience. It will eliminate the first day jitters and make sure you are prepared for your start the following week.

What should I bring to Orientation?

You need to bring one piece of government issued ID (to get your bus pass/student card), your class schedule (to buy your textbooks) and a pen/pencil.

How do I get to Orientation?

You can bus, drive, walk or bike to Orientation. The #8, #21, #39, and #83 all make stops at the Interurban campus.  Parking is not free on campus; the cost is $2.75 for 4 hours which will be enough to cover the length of Orientation. Bike racks are available on campus, some right by the courtyard. Remember to bring your own lock.

Can my family come?

Your family is welcome to come, but it is recommended students attend by themselves in order to make sure they are independently prepared for their start.

What if I can’t attend?

Attending Orientation is highly recommended, but if you are unable to attend you can visit www.camosun.ca/biz-orientation where you will find important information before and after Orientation.

Who can I contact if I want more information?

Contact Monique Tatum, Program Assistant, School of Business.
