CPA Recruiting Events – Fall 2018

Do you want to be a Chartered Professional Accountant? Prepare for the upcoming fall recruiting!

If you are an accounting student or a graduate interested in an articling or co-op position for 2019, then you will want to attend the various events occurring this fall.  Each of these events require online registration (see details under each event below on how/when to register). 

Preparatory Information Sessions

Information Session:  CPA Fall Recruiting—Are you and your Resume ready?

Learn how to improve your resume and learn the tips and tricks for successfully applying for accounting positions from Camosun experts!
*Note that in order to attend at 1-on-1 resume session on Sept 10 or 11, you need to have attended one of the information sessions on June 13th, August 13th, or Sept 5th.

Networking Events:

Registration for Camosun-hosted Networking events opens on Tuesday, August 7th at noon for Camosun students/alumni and UVic students only.

Students and alumni from other post-secondary institutions and regions can register beginning Monday, August 20, 2018 at noon, space permitting.

Note that registrations received for non-Camosun/UVic registrants prior to Monday August 20th will be cancelled. 

MNP Networking Event

If you are interested in a possible future career with MNP, then you should attend to learn about the Victoria office and meet their firm representatives.  This networking event will be occurring off-campus in an intimate meet and greet setting.  Given the smaller venue, this event is open to 3rd year, 4th year, and PDD Camosun students seeking articling or co-op positions in 2019 only.

The annual networking event for our students to meet, in a relaxed and personable atmosphere, with a large number of firms interested in hiring permanent and co-op positions in public accounting.

Grant Thornton Networking and Information Session

If you are interested in a possible future career with Grant Thornton, then you should attend to learn about the Victoria office and meet their firm representatives. This networking and recruiting event will interest students and graduates who are interested in positions starting in 2019. If you will not be available to be hired in 2019, you may still attend as it is an excellent opportunity to meet with the firm.

Resume Preparation Workshops:

Step one: Attend a resume preparation information session (June 13, August 13 or Sept 5 – see above) and update your resume and cover letter
Step two:    Register for a one-on-one workshop to review your resume with Camosun faculty and co-op and career services staff (Sept 10 or 11) or arrange for one-on-one help through the Co-operative Education and Career Services educationthatworks website.
