The Blue Seal Certification provides an opportunity for certified Red Seal journeypersons who want to develop their business skills with skills and knowledge in workplace supervision, mentoring, and project management.
A Blue Seal Certificate is evidence that a tradesperson not only meets high industry standards, but has the knowledge and drive to succeed in business. Tradespeople who complete the Blue Seal program may move into leadership, supervisory, entrepreneurial and other roles.
Currently, the Blue Seal Certification is only awarded in Alberta and Saskatchewan, with a similar certificate offered in the Atlantic Provinces through the new Atlantic Trades Business Seal Program. In line with the Federal Government's commitments to encourage entrepreneurship, Economic Action Plan 2015 proposes to provide $1 million over five years to Employment and Social Development Canada's Red Seal Secretariat to promote the adoption of the Bue Seal Certificate program across Canada,
