Stuart Berry Instructor, Accounting & Finance
Stuart has been a faculty member in the School of Business at Camosun since 1994. Stuart holds a Doctorate in Education from Athabasca University and an MA from Royal Roads University; both with a focus on online and distance learning models including processes in support of knowledge creation in an ever-changing set of learning environments. Stuart has taught at the graduate level, online at Royal Roads University, Athabasca University and has been a visiting lecturer at the INSEEC Business School in Paris and Bordeaux, France.
Stuart’s favourite courses at Camosun are bookends; in that one is a first year Introduction to financial accounting, and the other is a final semester course, focussing on strategic management and business strategy. His academic interests primarily centre on understanding both an epistemological constructivist approach to the creation of knowledge as well as constructionist view of learning. These educational constructs help bridge Ikujiro Nonaka’s Organizational Knowledge Creation Theory and his SECI model of knowledge creation which Stuart works to thread throughout his teaching and engagement with his students. Stuart maintains an academic website that can be located at https://sites.camosun.ca/stuartberry/
