Dean's message
Welcome to the School of Arts and Science.
The School of Arts and Science is an excellent choice for academic or career studies. Each semester, we offer hundreds of courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences as well as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English and Psychology. Are you interested in courses such as Astronomy, Canadian Literature, Anthropology, Mathematics or Child Psychology? Our students benefit from small class sizes and flexible full and part-time study options, including the possibility of taking some distance courses. Dedicated and experienced faculty encourage academic and personal growth in an environment that fosters a caring concern for the individual. Whether you are interested in a few general interest classes or two full years of university transfer courses, make the School of Arts and Science your first choice for academic studies.
The School of Arts and Science offers a variety of associate degrees and programs. Our two-year Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Degrees provide credentials which transfer into third-year studies for a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Science or Education. Also, our Career Programs in the areas of Applied Communication, Applied Chemistry and Biotechnology, Criminal Justice, Environmental Technology, Music, and Visual Arts prepare students for immediate employment or transfer to a university. All our career programs effectively mix theoretical and hands-on learning; work experience or Co-operative Education is available in several areas. Graduation from either an associate degree or diploma program provides students with excellent opportunities for employment and further studies.
Please look at the exciting learning opportunities that unfold on this website. The department or program Chairs will be glad to answer any of your questions. Do contact the Arts and Science Office for more information as well. Certainly, if you choose Arts and Science courses or a program, you will obtain a high-quality academic education in an encouraging, enjoyable atmosphere.
We wish you good success in achieving your academic and career goals and would welcome the opportunity to assist you.
