Honours BA in Philosophy, MA in Philosophy with Psychology
Megan Shelstad was born in Toronto and lived in London, Ontario for most of her life. Before attending The University of Western Ontario, she spent eight years in the advertising industry working as a graphic artist. She received an Honours Bachelor of Arts in 1987—majoring in Philosophy and minoring in Psychology—and completed a Masters degree in Philosophy with Psychology in 1988. She began teaching while working on her PhD in Philosophy and completed the course work and the comprehensive examinations for the doctoral program. Megan continued teaching at Western until 1997 when she left Canada for Guatemala and spent three years as the English-speaking Teacher-Librarian for the elementary section of the Colegio Americano de Guatemala. She returned to Canada in 2000 and started teaching at Camosun College in 2003.
