Our programs are offered on both campuses and in various communities and we often collaborate with other schools at Camosun.

Community Learning Partnerships (CLP)

Indigenous Academic Upgrading Courses only or Certificate Offered in local First Nations communities. Courses in English, math, and basic computer studies include Indigenous components designed to meet the needs of Indigenous students. varies
Indigenous College Prep Certificate CLP collaborates with Indigenous Education & Community Connections to provide an Access program that provides provincial English (Grade 12 alternative) including Indigenous Literature, Intermediate Math (Grade 10) and Career Exploration (BEST 041). This program prepares Indigenous students for further education. 8 months
Indigenous Human Services Career Access Certificate CLP collaborates with Indigenous Education & Community Connections to provide an Access program that provide provincial English including Indigenous Literature (Grade 12 alternatives) and Career Exploration (BEST 041). This program prepares Indigenous students for entrance into human services programs at Camosun. 8-12 months

Access to Career and Academic Programs

The School of Access collaborates with other schools at Camosun to offer short programs that help you fulfil English and math admission requirements while taking courses related to your chosen career program.

Prepares students to enter our Information and Computer Systems Technician, Computer Network Electronics Technician, and Engineering Graphics Technician programs. 4 months
Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology Access Certificate Includes Preparatory Technical Writing (ENGL 130) and Algebra, Triangle Trigonometry & Geometry (MATH 139) taught by English and Math Access instructors. Get a guaranteed seat in the next intake of Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology - Renewable Energy. 8 months

Pathways for Life, Learning and Work Certificate Pathways for Life is designed for secondary school students who have barriers to education and employment and who are looking for a non-academic, hands-on learning experience. You'll discover what it takes to be successful in an adult learning environment and practice communication, employment, learning and networking skills. Through this South Island Partnership program, you'll have experiences that will help you determine the best next step after high school. 6 weeks
Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Certificate The ability to read, write, and do basic arithmetic are essential skills needed for work, learning and life. In this program, you'll work on these skills to increase your understanding and enhance your job performance. 4 months

English Language Development

Health Care Assistant - ESL Certificate You earn the Health Care Assistant certificate while improving your English. ELD 056 is taught by an ELD instructor as part of this program offered by Health & Human Services. 49 weeks

Student Access Services

We provide one-on-one tutoring and support with course work, academic and life skills for students enrolled in School of Access and college-level programs.

We operate six on-campus Help Centres and provide support at community partnership locations.
