Mice Albano has been a visitor to the land of the Lkwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ for the past 30 years. Her ancestors are from the Guarani nation in Brasil, as well as Italy and Portugal. She is a passionate teacher who believes the best way to learn is to do what we love and to experience and connect with the community around us. Mice joined Camosun in 1996 teaching English to adult learners in the former Adult Basic Education Department. Her journey took her to the English Language Development Department and more recently to Academic and Career Foundations. In the past two years Mice has also been teaching mindfulness to students and employees at the college as her contribution to the Mental Health Strategy Plan. When Mice is not teaching she can be found reading a book, meditating, doing yoga, exploring the outdoors or traveling with family and friends. She feels grateful to be part of the Camosun community.
