Camosun College

Access Awards

Awards ceremony

School of Access student awards are presented annually mid-May. This year the ceremony was held Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Na'tsa'maht, the new Aboriginal gathering place at Lansdowne Campus. Read about the ceremony and awards recipients.

The School of Access and the Department of Aboriginal Education & Community Connections, in partnership with the Camosun College Foundation, offer a series of awards to outstanding students.

To be eligible for an Access award, you must have been enrolled in an Access program or course for at least one semester during May 1, 2011–April 30, 2012. Check award descriptions for criteria and application details. Aboriginal students may be eligible for Aboriginal Education & Community Connections Department awards in addition to School of Access awards.

You are welcome to apply for more than one award, but please submit a separate application for each one. Be sure to review the award criteria carefully and include all the necessary essays or references.

Award values vary from year to year but can typically be anywhere between $150-500 each.

Note: There are awards for which you may be nominated by your instructor or other staff. (The instructor/staff member proposes a student as a candidate for the award—you don't apply). If you feel you are an outstanding candidate, think about approaching your instructor to see if he/she will consider your nomination.
