Are you unemployed or under employed? You may be eligible for free tuition for the April 2 daytime program.
At the completion of the program you will be able to:
- Apply Information Architecture principles to actual websites
- Apply basic Graphic Design principles to the creation of Web pages
- Demonstrate proficiency with standards based W3C* validated and semantic XHTML (*World Wide Web Consortium)
- Demonstrate proficiency with HTML, XHTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver and Adobe Fireworks
- Apply basic social media strategy to a website using Facebook and Twitter
- Deploy websites (registering domains, establishing hosting services)
- Plan for effective web site maintenance
- Demonstrate ability to work and communicate effectively with clients
- Demonstrate ability to research and discern online resources
Ongoing Professional Development after the Program
Once you complete the foundation program, you will decide what follow-up training you will require and how you will attain it. To a great extent the choice of advanced workshops offered by Camosun will be guided by the requests of learners and the availability of instructional experts. Examples include but are not limited to 18 to 30 hour courses on new and emerging software, programming languages and web related technology.
