 John's work integrates new practices with a multi-disciplinary approach, which often incorporates the vocabulary of sculpture, performance, photography, video, digital technology, and installation. As you will see from his website and curriculum vitae, over the past decade, John has developed an extensive exhibition record both nationally and internationally. Having participated in events and exhibitions in the United States (New York, Los Angeles, Cleveland, 2004 CAA conference Seattle), Chile (Santiago), Canada (Toronto, Newfoundland, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Victoria, Montreal, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Banff), China (Shanghai), France (Marnay sur Seine), the UK (Cardiff), and Mexico (Mexico City) Spain (Barcelona) Poland (Gdansk) Argentina (Buenos Aires) Finland (Helsinki) Ireland (Belfast), and (Berlin) Germany, with up coming exhibitions in, Nanaimo, Italy, Iowa, Montenegro, and Ottawa. In 2004, John was short listed for the prestigious $50,000 Sobey Art Award and the recipient of numerous international, federal and provincial grants.
For the past six years John has been a Sessional/Adjunct Instructor at the University of Victoria, Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design, and Camosun aned Brentwood Colleges. John is also the President of a distribution company distributing action sports products to over 500 retailers throughout Canada.
