Trades & Apprenticeship Training
Vancouver Island's premier trades training provider
Respect. Opportunity. Good Pay. Start your future now.
For more than 40 years, students have been coming to Camosun College for trades training, and employers have been coming to Camosun for skilled employees.
It's never been a better time to get started in a trade. Because of industry growth and expected retirements, BC is going to have a shortage of skilled trades workers by 2015. By starting your training now, you can be highly skilled, fully certified and ready for work, just as employers need you the most.
Two ways to get started
Direct Entry Apprenticeship Programs
Direct entry Apprenticeship programs allow you to earn while you learn. If you're already working as an apprentice, you'll come to Camosun for 6-10 weeks each year for your required technical training. Camosun offers apprenticeship training for 20 distinct trades, including 12 trades with the Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement. Read more...
Foundation and pre-employment programs
Foundation and pre-employment certificate programs run 6-10 months each and provide a solid introduction to the trade. Graduates are well positioned for entry level employment or to begin an apprenticeship.
