Learning another language opens your mind to new ways of seeing the world. By learning Spanish, you will begin to share in the culture of more than 300 million people around the world!

Globally, Spanish is the official language in 20 countries, and is the dominant language throughout Central and South America. A proficiency in Spanish can open doors to many opportunities for travel, employment and cultural enrichment. If you have an interest in Hispanic history and culture, you will gain a much deeper understanding if you can read and listen directly in the Spanish language.

Camosun’s small classes allow you to study and practice in an intimate, safe environment. You will learn from literature, film and art as well as the textbook.

Spanish 100 and 101 can be used as electives for an Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Arts degree or a Diploma in Arts and Science Studies because they provide transfer credit to UVic and other BC universities.

You will need to complete 20 university transfer courses (60 credits). At least 14 courses must be offered by the School of Arts and Science. This gives you the flexibility and freedom to study courses of your choosing. More info...

Explore your interests! University Transfer has the flexibility to allow you to take courses part-time or full-time with courses starting throughout the year.
