From Foundation to Apprenticeship

Foundation and Pre-employment programs

Foundation and pre-employment certificate programs run six to ten months each and provide a comprehensive introduction to the trade. These programs combine in-class learning with hands-on practical skills, making you well-positioned for entry-level employment or start an apprenticeship. Foundation programs also provide a head-start on apprenticeship training by covering the technical learning outcomes required in your first apprenticeship year. Foundation grads receive credit for Level 1 technical training as well as some of the required training hours. Learn more.

Technical training for registered Apprentices

If you've already been hired as an apprentice, you can get your required technical training at Camosun without starting in the longer Foundation program. Depending on which trade you've chosen, you'll be in school for five to ten weeks in each year of your apprenticeship.

Camosun offers apprenticeship training in a wide variety of trades, including 12 trades with the Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement. Successful completion of all levels leads to the BC Certificate in Apprenticeship Technical Training. Learn more.
