We offer all the prerequisite upgrading courses required for entrance into college or university programs.
Academic Upgrading College Preparatory (Prep) courses will help you:
- complete admission requirements for a post-secondary program, or
- complete requirements to obtain your BC Adult Graduation Diploma, or
- satisfy a personal interest or goal.
Courses are available in English, math, biology, chemistry, physics and computer studies at the Grade 11 and 12 levels.
- Length: Most courses are offered in a fixed-pace format over one semester. Some two-month intensive courses are offered as are some self-paced courses. As a result, the time required for each course varies depending upon the option you choose.
- Location: Courses are offered primarily at the Lansdowne campus, however, some classes are held at the Interurban campus. English and math courses are also offered in various other locations in the community. Online classes may be available through Distance Education.
Although most Academic Upgrading courses are tuition free, there are application and student fees and textbook expenses. Financial aid may be available to cover these costs.
If English is not your first language (ESL), we also offer parallel English academic upgrading and college preparatory courses intended for the non-native English speaker. For more information see: Certificate in English Language Development–Level 2.
