Programs are laid out in accordance with the Shipping Act 2001, Marine Personnel Regulations. All of our courses are open to the public with their respective prerequisites listed in the course descriptions.

Chief Mate 500T, Domestic

When you complete your training and have successfully been rewarded the Chief Mate, 500 Gross Tonnes Domestic Certificate of Competency by Transport Canada, you’ll qualify as:

  • Chief Mate 500 Gross Tonnes, Near Coastal Voyage, Class 2; or
  • Chief Mate 3000 Gross Tonnes in Sheltered Waters Voyage.

Master, Limited 60T

As a Master, Limited 60T Transport Canada Certificate of Competency holder, you’ll be responsible for a vessel of 60T or less.

Master 150T, Domestic

As a Master 150 Gross Tonnes, Domestic Certificate of Competency mariner you are trained to be:

  • Master mariner 150 Gross Tonnes, Near Coastal Voyages; or
  • Master 500 Gross Tonnes in Sheltered Waters Voyages.
