You know your files are in that computer, but can you find them easily? If you own a computer, then you need to really understand how and why to plan your e-filing system, and how to confidently move, copy, paste, rename and burn files and folders to CD. Learn these and many more time saving tips and tools. These skills are prerequisite to all other software courses. Applicable to all current versions of Windows. Schedule Details

Whether you are managing a household or running a small business, Excel will help you automate your books using every day math. Includes Excel basic spreadsheet techniques, how to enter, analyze, and calculate data, use simple formulas, create graphs and add formatting. Schedule Details

Excel - Level 2 • BSCM 512V (18 hours)
Realistic examples will be used to demonstrate ways to build on your basic knowledge of Excel to increase your productivity.  You will construct advanced formulas, use worksheet information in database fashion, design charts, protect worksheet data, learn about macros, simple scenarios and more.  You must be familiar with autosum, autofill, how to create a basic chart and understand the difference between relative and absolute referencing. Develop a solid foundation in relational database concepts and design while learning to use Microsoft Access. You will create and modify tables, forms, queries and reports. You will use realistic examples that emphasize how Access can be used to increase your productivity. Schedule Details

MS-Office Pictures and Graphics • BSCM 536V (6 hours)
Graphics bring your files to life, yet they can be so uncooperative! Learn how to position, adjust, control and enhance a wide variety of graphics including smart-art, photographs and clip art. Use powerpoint to set-up a photo album with videos that include enhancements such as trimming and fading.  The behavior of graphics in Excel is distinctly different than Word. Learn to apply sophisticated Word features to enhance the look and efficiency of your work. Includes headers/footers, business cards, creating tables, merging letters and labels, creating templates, working with columns, styles, quick parts entries, table of contents, macros and more. Prerequisite: Word Level 1 or equivalent skills. You must be able to format fonts; customize paragraph formats (indents, alignments, bullets, numbering, borders); modify margins, orientation and borders; add page numbers; insert section breaks. MS-Office Course Assignments • BSCM 559V (25 hours - self directed)
For those pursuing the part-time MS-Office Certificate program, a take home assignment is required after completing each course. Knowledge questions and exercises will reinforce your learning and help you prepare for the completion project. Fee includes all assignments for up to two years. Schedule Details

MS-Office Completion Project • BSCM 540V (30 hours - self directed)
This exciting self-directed course is the final requirement for the MS-Office certificate. You will create and submit for grading a project of your choice, either fictitious or real, that demonstrates your ability to use and integrate Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint. A tutor will be assigned to answer your questions. All courses and assignments must be completed prior to registering, and your project must be completed within two months of registering. Call 250-370-4565 or email sofbus@camosun.bc.ca to request the special registration form. Please submit a College application form with your registration ($35.70 fee).

Prerequisites: Completion of all the above course and assignments.
