As a graduate of the Mechanical Engineering Technology Access program, you’ll be on your way toward a wide range of careers, including placements in the design, manufacturing, engineering, drafting, architectural, construction and computer industries. As well, you'll have a seat reserved for the next intake of the Mechanical Engineering Technology program.
This program assists students in completing the admission requirements for Camosun's Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology and the Certificate in Engineering Graphics Technician. While upgrading in mathematics, physics and English students will gain up-to-date skills applicable to mechanical systems and architectural design, including:
- Introduction to the use of a computer as a tool for problem-solving;
- Computer-aided-design (CAD) using up-to-date commercial software including 3D and design visualization; and,
- design skills in engineering drawing preparation as related to CAD projects.
The Mechanical Engineering Technology Access program is taught on the Interurban Campus and is six (6) months in length. A new session begins each September.
