In demand

There is a great demand to recruit Victoria-based crews in the film industry. In a January 2017 Times Colonist article, Victoria film commissioner Kathleen Gilbert said that 2017 is shaping up to be busier than 2015 for movie and TV production, when 24 projects generated $18 million in direct spending. “We want to find people with transferable skills and get them set-ready as quickly as possible,” said Gilbert.

Wondering how you can work in film? This additional Times Colonist article which lists several dozen examples of film crew jobs.
