Are you interested in going back to school and pursuing a health career that prepares you to work as a care provider for Aboriginal elders in your community, or with elders in long term care facilities?
The Health Care Assistant - Indigenous(HCA-I) program is designed to provide you with opportunities to develop knowledge, skills and values necessary to provide care to families and individuals in First Nations and Aboriginal communities. The program will provide opportunities for you to reflect, develop self-awareness and pride as you develop your care giving potential.
Once you graduate, you’ll be qualified to work in any level of continuing care, including adult daycare, personal care, assisted living, home support, complex care, group homes and special care units. You’ll work collaboratively as part of a health care team, functioning under the direction and supervision of an appropriate health care professional.
