If you're missing some program prerequisites, don't worry! We now have options for students who may not have the MATH 11 or ENGLISH 12 prerequisite and will work with you on an individual basis to design a program so that you can work on your program requirements while beginning your program.
Please contact the IBL Program Leader directly if you know that you are missing either Math 11 or Eng 12.
The Indigenous Business Leadership (IBL) option provides learners with the opportunity to explore and apply Indigenous perspectives in management and leadership while gaining a broad business education.
The program of study is comprised of a core of Indigenous Business Leadership courses complemented by required courses selected from the general curriculum. Classes will include a mix of lectures, group-work simulations, sharing circles, guest lecturers and case-study activities. The core courses will reflect current Indigenous realities and concerns. Students will have opportunities to mentor with Indigenous professionals through their program and complete a significant community enterprise project with an Indigenous community or organization.
Upon graduation, and depending on your course of study, you will be able to pursue many career opportunities including:
- tourism/eco tourism
- management of arts and cultural organizations
- entrepreneurship and business ownership
- managing in Indigenous and non-Indigenous governments and non-profit organ zit ions
- consulting
- community economic development, sustainability in business and technology
