Hospital Unit Clerk

What You’ll Learn

Prepare to work in a hospital

In this program, you'll take courses in communication skills, pharmacology, patient charts and extensive training processing physician's orders. You'll cap off your education with a supervised hospital practicum to put your skills to work.

What to expect

The program is offered once a year on a part-time basis starting each September and finishing in May. Classes are held at the Interurban Campus. From September to April, you'll spend 10 hours a week in the classroom over two evenings and Saturdays.

In addition, you should expect to spend two to six hours each week doing homework. During April and May, you'll complete your program with a required 110-hour supervised hospital practicum.
