Brian Youell, Instructor

Brian joined the School of Business at Camosun College in 2003 as an Instructor within the Golf Management program and is currently a member of the College's Golf Advisory Board, serving as Chair. He attended Guelph University -Turfgrass Management, Fairview College - Turfgrass Management, Cornell University - Business and is a Certified Irrigation Auditor. Brian's been employed at the Uplands Golf Club since 1981, as the Master Superintendant.

Brian accomplishments include Director with a number of organizations:: Western Canada Turfgrass Association, WCTA Research Committee, British Columbia Superintendents Association - Provincial Director, Canadian Golf Course Superintendents Association - Provincial Director.

• 2001 - ToastMasters Golden Gavel Winner
• 2002 - Became the 7th Superintendent in Canada to receive Master Superintendent Designation
• 2005 - B.C. Superintendent of the Year
• 2007 - Received Accredited Golf Course Superintendent Designation.

Brian has been a regular speaker a various golf related national conferences, and written over 20 articles in trade publications regarding golf course management. Golf handicap between +1 and 2.
