Come and explore Geography at Camosun. It may just change your view of things!
Geography today is much more than memorizing capitals and reading maps. Geographers examine the patterns and processes of human and environmental landscapes. Our discipline is both a science and an art, combining a broad, spatial perspective with knowledge and views from other fields of study. Our subject matter ranges from shifting climate to shifting global cultures.
Many students discover Geography at Camosun by taking one of our introductory courses: GEOG 100 - Ecosystems and Human Activity, GEOG 102 - Human Geography or GEOG 111 – Natural Hazards. Download our Guide to Geography for more info on courses.
An education in geography can take you places you might not expect! Here are some of the many career paths that have been pursued by geographers:
- Geography teaching
- Geographic information systems
- Environmental consulting
- Natural resource management
- Environmental monitoring
- Urban planning
- Census data collection and analysis
- Map making
