As a Student
Exercise & Wellness is all about being active and learning about how to stay active. Through our applied activity courses, you gain hands on knowledge about different activities like the following:
- Resistance training
During your first term of the diploma or degree, you will have the opportunity to gain your CPR (Health Care Provider) and Standard First Aid certificates in EXW 120. These certifications will allow to participate in the rest of your activity courses during the program.

Started by 4th year CSEE students and partnered with the AET Clinic, the Exercise is Medicine Club helps spread the word through events, workshops and community outreach that physical activity is an integral part of chronic disease prevention and treatment to improve the health of Canadians.

Exercise is Medicine® is a global initiative! Launched by the American College of Sports Medicine in 2007, EIM now has a presence in several countries around the globe.
As a graduate of the Diploma program in Exercise & Wellness, you'll be eligible to write the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology Certified Personal Trainer® (CSEP-CPT) exam.
As a graduate of the Bachelor of Sport and Fitness Leadership, you will also meet the requirements to write the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology Clinical Exercise Physiologist® (CSEP-CEP).
In addition, you can write the American College of Sports Medicine Physical Activity in Public Health Specialist (PAPHS) exam valid in the United States.
Diploma graduates have the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to pursue studies in the areas of sport and fitness leadership, health promotion, exercise physiology and kinesiology.
Degree graduates have the knowledge to pursue graduate studies in health promotion, rehabilitation medicine (OT, PT, M.Sc.), exercise physiology and kinesiology.
