Employment Training and Preparation
"I got so much from this program. The course on the financial aspects of living independently helped me to take better care of myself, and work experience allowed me to achieve my career goals.” ~ Adam T.

Come out, meet our staff and learn about the programs at an Information Session.
- Looking to make a change?
- Do you need entry-level employment skills?
- Do you want training for a variety of work settings?
- Are you unable to meet the entrance requirements for other college programs?
Employment Training at Camosun can get you started!
Gain basic entry level work skills:
- the importance of taking positive action,
- good customer service,
- time management skills and communication skills,
- how to deal with common workplace problems,
- telephone and interview skills—how to ask questions that will help you when looking for work,
- how to prepare a resume, and how to undertake an effective job search.
Employment Training programs start in September or January. All courses are self-paced, with a combination of classroom studies at our Interurban Campus and work experience on campus or in the community. You may enrol for full-time or part-time studies.
The Certificates in Employment Training Levels 1 and 2 lead to external certifications that may include First Aid/CPR, SuperHost, FoodSafe Level 1 and a modified WHMIS certificate. Once you've completed your training, you'll be prepared to find work in small kitchens or garden centres, and in retail markets.
