Now, more than ever, the world needs effective communicators, skilled writers and critical thinkers. Camosun's English courses, taught in small classes by dedicated instructors, will help you gain these skills. We offer a number of dynamic courses that will prepare you for a career in journalism, media studies, or education, as well as provide what you need to enter a variety of college or university programs.

With an Associate of Arts Degree in English, you can go almost anywhere. Carry on to a Bachelor Degree or Masters and join the ranks as a professor, or realize your life-long dream of writing your own stories or covering special events as a reporter. Editors and publishers often begin their careers by demonstrating exceptional communication skills.

As a student in the Associate of Arts Degree program, you will have access to excellent academic advice; you'll have the security of a definite path and the freedom to explore along the way. Associate Degree students also enjoy the fellowship that comes with being part of a group of like-minded friends with the same goal.

The Associate of Arts Degree in English program will provide you with your first two years of full-time study, preparing you to transfer to a four-year institution to complete your degree. At Camosun, you'll complete 20 courses and earn an Associate of Arts Degree with an English concentration. And you don't need to wait! You can start in September or January.

Work Experience is Now an Option for Associate Degree Students

Associate Degree programs have either a Co-op or Internship option. Students will gain practical work experience, which may be paid or unpaid, through either a four-month Internship or two co-op work terms, available after eight courses of academic study. Academic Upgrading College Preparatory

Camosun offers all the prerequisite upgrading courses required for entrance into college or university programs. These Academic Upgrading courses are tuition free but do include some fees. More information...
