Intermediate, Advanced and Provincial levels of English language skills
ELD level 2 courses focus on the development of advanced academic English language skills needed to gain entry into college-level programs or technical and professional English language skills needed in the Canadian workplace.

For success in these programs, you are encouraged to immerse yourself in English outside your classes, attend regularly, participate in class, and complete homework and assignments.
To support you in achieving success, we offer one-on-one tutoring in all language skills including grammar and pronunciation. Take advantage of advice and tutoring for essay writing and a weekly conversation club. Make use of our reference and lending libraries, study space, computers and printers. Have fun participating in English language games and contests.
Level 2: Canadian Language Benchmarks 6-8
Intermediate and Advanced ELD courses
These courses focus on the development of academic English language skills needed to enter Provincial-level ELD courses, as well as gain general English communicative competence.

*Students registered in ELD 062 and ELD 064 are also registered in 2.5 lab hours per week to be arranged individually.
**Students registered in ELD 072 are also registered in 2 lab hours per week.

Lab hours provide a variety of activities that support and enhance regular class work.
Provincial Level ELD courses
These courses focus on the development of all language skills. ELD 092 and ELD 094 articulate with Camosun's ENGL 092 and ENGL 094 courses, and ELD 097 articulates with ENGL 142. ELD 092 and ELD 094 and ELD 097 are acceptable for entry into Camosun college-level courses and programs that require Grade 12 English.

Certificate in English Language Development–Level 2
The completion of ELD 092 and ELD 094, or ELD 097, or ELD 103 and ELD 104 will indicate you have developed the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills required to enter Camosun's college-level programs and will provide you with a Certificate in English Language Development–Level 2.
