Completion requirements
To receive a Certificate in Engineering Transfer (First Year Engineering), a C or higher in each course and a minimum GPA of 3.0 (C+) overall is required.
After completion
- The Engineering Transfer courses satisfy the entrance requirement into second-year engineering at the University of Victoria and guarantee you a seat in second-year engineering, though not necessarily in your preferred engineering discipline. UVic has competitive entry into some second-year engineering programs (e.g. Mechanical, Civil and Biomedical Engineering) as demand typically exceeds the available space. UVic students and transfer students are evaluated equally and seats are offered based on GPA.
- You will need to take UVic ENGR 130 Introduction to Professional Practice (0.5 units) in second year before doing your UVic co-op work term.
- If you wish to study engineering at any post-secondary institution, you must apply for course-to-course transfer. You should check the BC Transfer Guide and contact your destination institution for transfer information.
