Requirements
Heavy Duty Mechanic Foundation/ Commercial Transport Mechanic Foundation
Admission requirements
- submit proof of a letter grade of “C” in English 11, or English 12, or EFP 12, or TPC 12, or ENGL 058; or assessment; and,
- submit proof of a letter grade of “C” in Apprenticeship
and Workplace Math 11, or MATH 038;
or assessment.
OR - successful completion of a Trades Assessment Test.
* Note: If a student does not have one of these preferred math requirements, the college will accept a “C” in Foundations of Math 11, or Pre-calculus 11, or Applications of Math 11, or Principles of Math 11, or MATH 073 or MATH 137.

Participation requirements
- The student is ultimately responsible for his/her learning and meeting the requirements of the course and/or program. All students are encouraged to communicate issues concerning their course and program with their instructor, Chair/Program Leader, respectively. The School encourages full participation and active learning by attending all scheduled classes.
- All trades programs have a mandatory attendance requirement.
Completion requirements
- A minimum grade of (70%) mark overall is required to obtain a Certificate in Heavy Duty Mechanic Foundation and a Certificate in Commercial Transport Mechanical Foundation.
