Diploma in Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology - Renewable Energy with Co–operative Education Designation
The Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology – Renewable Energy program provides you with all the knowledge you need to work in a variety of positions associated with the electronics industry. You'll develop analytical skills and learn the application of these to electronic circuits and systems. As renewable energies are becoming more important, you'll leave the program with an introductory knowledge of this new and expanding area. You'll take courses in the control and drive of electrical motors and will directly apply electronics technology to the renewable energies area.

- Micro-electronics fabrication and testing (hardware and software)
- Instrumentation and data acquisition
- Micro-controller system design
- Data gathering, processing and monitoring of RE systems
- Communications systems design and installation
- Electronic control systems, robotics
- Design and testing of micro-electronics systems
- Technical and sales support
- Solar-powered devices
- Design of renewable energy solutions
The program runs for approximately two years at the Interurban campus starting in September.
If you are a graduate of this program and have a cumulative GPA of at least 5.0 ("B") you can apply to the Electrical Engineering Bridge program (bridges to the Electrical Engineering degree program at the University of Victoria (UVic). Opportunities also exist to bridge into the final two years of engineering at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
