As an Electrical Engineering Technology—Marine & Industrial student, you are part of our School of Trades & Technology.

The School of Trades & Technology plays a vital role in training tradespeople, technicians, technologists and artisans on Southern Vancouver Island. We offer a variety of programs and courses to meet your needs, whether that is to establish or further your career in the trades or technologies, bridge into a third year Engineering program or just for your own personal interest through Continuing Education. The Electrical Engineering Technology department features over two million dollars worth of high technology equipment within six dedicated labs.


As Victoria is located on the ocean it only make sense that Camosun offers training to meet the needs of the marine sector. Victoria is home to Canada’s Pacific Fleet, and a dry dock capable of handling ships up to 100,000 tons, so there is a growing need for technologist skilled in the electrical marine sector. Students can find work in either ship repair, maintenance or the fabrication of new vessels.

In addition, students can work with local Electrical consulting companies designing electrical installations for the construction industry or they can work with companies designing electrical control systems for large industrial systems. There are many opportunities across a number of industries including BC Hydro.
