grad photo Camosun College is offering a new credential from the School of Arts and Science – the Diploma in Arts and Science Studies.

The new diploma offers you a great deal of flexibility and freedom to study courses of your choosing. It will be an ideal path if you want to explore your interests and discover your passions by taking courses from several different disciplines. The program also suits students who are quite certain of their educational goals and have further studies in mind.

To graduate with a Diploma in Arts and Science Studies, you will need to complete 20 transfer courses (60 credits) at the 100 level or higher. At least 14 courses must be offered by the School of Arts and Science. You have a wide variety of courses to choose from in Arts and Science: anthropology, art, Asia studies, astronomy, biology, chemistry, Chinese, communications, criminal justice, English, environmental studies, French, geography, geoscience, history, Japanese, jazz, Korean, mathematics, music, philosophy, physics, political science, psychology, religion, sociology, social work, and Spanish. The remaining 6 courses can be from these disciplines or any other as long as they are transferable.

You can also adjust the pace of the program. You can accelerate your learning by registering in courses all year round, acquiring the Diploma in Arts & Science Studies in less than 2 years. If you have other responsibilities, you can choose part-time studies and work at a slower pace.

The Diploma in Arts and Science Studies is a valuable credential that can be listed on university and scholarship applications. Since many employers look for the successful completion of two years of post-secondary education, this will be a useful addition to your resume.
