Additional costs
- Application Fee: $35
- Commitment Fee Upon Offer of a Seat: $175
Failure to pay by the deadline will result in withdrawal from the program.
- Textbooks and Learning Packages (includes required texts only): $1,800 - for 2 years
Textbooks and course materials are available at the Camosun Lansdowne Bookstore.
The text-book list is mailed out in your package in early July. - Expendable Supplies: $100/year
(Paper, binders, pens, photocopying, computer discs, etc.) - Locker rental & combination lock: Total: $85/year
$5 deposit for Lock (returned at end of rental period and deposit refunded
$8 rental per month; - CPR Level C & Standard First Aid and Criminal Record Check: $185
[Pre-requisite documentation which must be presented to the program on the first day of class] - Uniforms: $200
2 sets of ‘scrubs’ and 1 lab jacket, 1 pair of rubber soled shoes, safety glasses.
(Waiting until after the orientation to purchase required attire is recommended. Some local suppliers may offer a reduced rate for Camosun Students.) - Instruments & Models of Teeth: $1,826.48
(includes instruments for both years, 2 cassettes, lab kits & ultrasonic inserts. Note: costs vary from year to year) - Examination/Professional Fees:
Canadian National Board Dental Hygiene Exam $535 + tax
(compulsory for licensure in BC & written in Spring of 2nd year)
American Board Exam (optional) $265 USD
(written in Spring of 2nd year) - Other Costs: $40
(name tag, College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia Registrant’s Handbook, dental conference registration ( Vancouver )) (note transportation & accommodation for conference vary and are not listed) - Surgical Telescope Eyewear (Loupes): $1600
