Biography

I’ve been at Camosun College since 1992 teaching Evolution, Diversity, General Biology, and Ecology courses. Prior to coming to Camosun I completed an M.Sc. in plant ecology at U.B.C. Subsequently, I continued at U.B.C. for two years as lecture and lab faculty. I graduated with a B.Sc. (Hon.) in general biology from U.Vic. in 1985.

Since coming to the college I have endeavoured to learn more about teaching. My goal is to help students increase their understanding of life by helping them to understand and manage diverse ideas from biology and other fields of study. Along the way I hope to impart an interest in biology and a love of learning. Just for the joy of it I, too, continue to learn about biology and other areas of art and science.

When not at work I can often be found lost in space playing piano with the headphones on. I also enjoy ocean kayaking and hiking with my husband. My other pleasures include gardening, reading voraciously and just hanging out with my dog.
