Biography

I was trained as a cell / molecular biologist and biochemist. One day, someone asked me if I could develop a microbiology course. Because I am always looking for challenges I accepted. My knowledge of microbiology then began to develop and soon enough I was lecturing about prokaryotic life.

This experience led me to teaching at Ottawa University where I joined the department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology. I taught at U of Ottawa medical school for a few years and became vice chair of the Microbiology Block. In 1997 I accepted a position at La Cité collégiale in Ottawa where I became chair of a brand new Biotechnology program that I developed with a team of very talented and dedicated people. This program is now very successful.

10 years passed and I found myself still looking for new challenges. I accepted a position here at Camosun College where I am still surrounded by highly skilled people and highly motivated students. I moved here in August 2007 and I never looked back

In my spare time I train for triathlons and I have done many of them. In 2010 I finished Ironman Canada and I will return in 2012 where I will attempt to qualify for the Ironman World Championship in Kona.
