Career & Education Exploration
Better Employment Strategies & Techniques
BEST - your personal career makeover
Life-altering changes in employment, relationships or personal priorities can trigger an overwhelming sense of self doubt and loads of questions: Where are the jobs? What am I good at? Who can help me? How do I start? Am I too old, too young, too quirky, too boring ... and so it goes.
Camosun’s career and education exploration program, called BEST, can help you answer these questions in profoundly revealing ways, and get you heading in new, positive directions.
The 8-week program can help boost your confidence, develop your employment skills, and uncover your natural abilities. After more than 30 years of offering BEST, there are hundreds of graduates who gladly praise the program and credit it with transforming them in countless ways.
Praise for BEST
- Take Marina, for example. A trained chef with a love of food and an interest in supporting the Crystal Meth Society, Marina was facing changes in her life but wasn’t sure what to do next. She enrolled in BEST and fit right in. “It was one of the best gifts I could have given myself!”
- Or Denyce, who says, “Good lord, people are missing out if they don’t enrol in BEST!” Denyce had dreams of becoming a dental technician, and BEST helped build her skills and confidence to follow that dream. Before she knew it, she had a plan of action and started her academic upgrading.
- Susan unexpectedly found herself a single parent in her mid-forties. BEST helped her recognize and validate her skills, and she eventually enrolled in Camosun’s Medical Office Administration program.
- Kevin was unhappy in his career and wanted to do something different. But he was only experienced in one field: auto body work. He says, “After taking the BEST program, I changed careers to Electronics Engineering. Now it’s a joy to go to work!”
