  1. There are nine elective courses in the BBA. Four of the nine elective courses may be 100 or higher level electives and two of these four must be non-business university transfer courses. The other five elective courses must be 200 or higher level university transfer courses or School of Business courses and include no more than one Applied Business Technology (ABT) course.
  2. BUS 140 will be accepted as a 1st year elective in the BBA. BUS 140 is a required diploma course and prerequisite to BUS 141.
  3. BUS 130 will be accepted a 1st year elective in the BBA. BUS 130 is a required diploma course.
  4. A minimum of 15 courses must be taken at Camosun including ACCT 480 and a least 7 mandatory accounting courses.
  5. Two university transfer Math courses are required & BUS 231 counts as one of them.
  6. Students may only use one of two or more courses with equivalent content and different names for credit towards completion of program credential.
  7. Effective January 2012: A minimum of 420 hours of industry relevant work experience is required to graduate. This requirement may be satisfied by completing ACCT 499 or BUS 201. Students should consult with the BBA Program Leader for additional information.
  8. Courses NOT acceptable as elective credit toward the Business Administration Diploma, Accounting Option, or the Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting Major.

    • Some additional courses are not acceptable as elective credit toward the diploma and degree.  All electives should be chosen in consultation with the Department Chair or an Academic Advisor.
  9. Credit to the accounting diploma and BBA may be obtained for only one of a pair or group of courses identified as having content that has significant overlap.  Examples are:  BUS 143 and BUS 242; BUS 290H and BUS 290; MATH 100 and MATH 108; MATH 105, and MATH 107, and MATH 115; MATH 116 and BUS 230; MATH 126 and MATH 222; SFL 300 and BUS 214; SFL 310 and PHIL 330; BSYS 494 and BUS 220.  There may be other examples.  Please consult with the Department Chair or Academic Advisor for more information.
